Go for a hike at Beech Creek Park

Beech Creek Park is located in the Town of Franklinton at the end of Dogwood Lane. Beech Creek Park is closed during inclement weather and water levels may rise quickly during heavy rainfall events. Beech Creek Park is open from Dawn to Dusk. Directions to Beech Creek Park from NC 56: Turn onto South Chavis Street and travel .6 miles. Dogwood Lane is the second street on the left. Travel all the way to the end of Dogwood Lane to the gravel parking area. The park entrance is to the right of the chain link fence. Inside the gate there is an information kiosk with a trail map and other relevant park information.

Go for a run (or walk) with Franklinton Run Club

Looking for an opportunity to get some exercise while meeting new people? Come out for a run or walk with the Franklinton Run Club! The Franklinton Run Club meets every Monday at 6 PM in Downtown Franklinton with the exception of Town holidays and during inclement weather. All participants are required to complete the waiver prior to participating in the Franklinton Run Club: Click Here for Franklinton Run Club Waiver.  Typically participants run or walk around two miles. Volunteer at the Franklinton Community Garden

The Franklinton Community Garden is located at 602 East Mason Street behind the Franklinton Senior Center. The Franklinton Community Garden is always looking for volunteers and typically does a fresh produce distribution every Saturday at 11 AM during the growing season. Honor our nations Veterans at the Franklinton Veterans Memorial Park

The Franklinton Veterans Memorial Park is located at 51 South Main Street in Downtown Franklinton. In 2024, the park was renovated through the generous contributions of USAF Veterans Joe & Stephanie Farrell. If you would like to secure a memorial brick for a friend or loved one who has served please contact American Legion Post 52. We also encourage all members of the community to attend the various events hosted by American Legion Post 52 that are held at the memorial park throughout the year. The Franklinton Market is located at 427 East Green Street (NC 56) which is on the corner of South Chavis Street and NC 56. The market features a variety of local craft, produce, and artisan vendors. Take in the sights at the Franklinton Flower Fields

The Town of Franklinton plants sunflowers and wildflowers at a 10 acre site located between NC 56 and East Mason Street which was formerly the location of the Burlington Mills Factory. Sunflowers generally bloom during July and August and make for a beautiful photo opportunity while also supporting local pollinators. The Town of Franklinton is proud to support local pollinators through its Bee City USA initiatives. Stay tuned to the Town's Facebook Page for information on when the flowers are in bloom.

Attend a Business After Hours Event with the Franklinton Chamber of Commerce

The Franklinton Chamber of Commerce holds monthly networking events which are hosted by a different Chamber Member each month. These networking events are free and open to anyone who would like to attend. This is a great way to learn about local businesses, to market your business, to meet community leaders, and to connect with your community. Take a stroll along the Downtown Walking Loop

Check out the Downtown Franklinton Walking Loop which runs along sidewalks through Downtown Franklinton. The total length of the loop is 1.33 miles. A map of the walking loop is available at: Franklinton Walking Loop Map

The Town of Franklinton is proud to be a Tree City USA! The Town has been a Tree City USA community for close to 40 years. Each year the Town holds a tree planting event around Arbor Day. Watch a movie under the stars!

Throughout the year the Town of Franklinton holds outdoor movie nights on the front lawn of Town Hall. These events are free to attend and free popcorn is served during the movie. Make sure to bring a lawn chair, blanket, and bug spray (just in case)! Additional information about outdoor movie night dates can be found on the Town's Special Events Calendar

Help us keep Franklinton Clean during a Litter Sweep!

Several times throughout the year the Town of Franklinton holds litter sweeps in partnership with Novonesis and community volunteers. Stay tuned for updates on the Town's social media pages.

Take to the slopes at Franklinton Town Hall!

When the weather conditions are just right, the Town of Franklinton makes snow on the Front Lawn of Town Hall to create the Franklinton Slopes. The Town strives to make snow at least once per year but the atmospheric conditions have to be just right to make good sledding snow. Stay tuned for updates on the Town's social media pages about snow making activities.

Compete in the Great Franklinton Pumpkin Pageant!

Each year the Town of Franklinton holds the Great Franklinton Pumpkin Pageant on Halloween night. Students from local schools submit pumpkins to compete in the pageant. Members of the community are also welcome to submit their carved pumpkins for the contest. Additional information will be posted on the Town's social media pages.

Enjoy a summer evening at the Carolina Manor House - Music at the Manor!

Sit back and relax and enjoy the sounds of Music at the Manor which is an annual summer concert series hosted by the Carolina Manor House. Additional information on concert dates, times, etc. can be found on the Carolina Manor House Facebook Page.
